General News.....

1  Congratulations to everyone who
took part in the London Marathon.
I believe the conditions were very
warm - but nevertheless creditable
performances by all.

2  Well done also to the Ladies and
Mens' teams plus supporters who
travelled to Blackpool for the
Northern Relays.  With the brilliant
weather and good performances by
both teams, it made for an enjoyable
day.  I believe the night was not too
bad either.

3  Another venture coming up is the
Veterans' relays which are on the 17th
of May at Sutton Park.  I have entered
Mens' teams in the over 60's, three to
run, over 50's six to run  and over 40's
eight to run.  If anyone isn't available
for that date could they let me know as
soon as possible and save me phoning
round in the week prior.

4  Good to see Dave Rawlings back, I
am sure he will make a big difference
to all the team results, he has certainly
set off at a good pace after two years
of bowling.  One wonders what he will
be like after a few months training.  All
it needs is for Gary to start firing on all
cylinders and then it will be normal
service resumed.

A big thanks must go to Dave Kelly
once again for driving the bus to the
relays.  Mind you, he said he would
drive rather than run.  That won't be a
luxury he will have at Sutton Park.

6  Welcome to Matthew, who has
already shown what an asset he will be
with his run at Blackpool.

7  Les Middleton has a new supply of club
vests at £12.50 each.  Les can be
contacted on Barrow 827427.

8  If anyone has any interesting tales or
points of interest contact Ray Jones and he
will put it on the club website.  Likewise if
anyone would like to submit reports to the
Evening Mail feel free.  IT'S YOUR CLUB.

9  I have not put any results or fixtures in
this newsletter because they can all be
found via the web.

10  Can you tell my previous compiler was
not around for this edition?
